Switched from chain to cable on my swing ladder and never looking back

I always ran chain on my 12-foot swing ladder because that's what the old timers used, but after snapping two links in three weeks I borrowed a buddy's cable setup for a job up near Port Arthur. The cable handles the mud pressure way better and I didn't have to stop and grease it every four hours. Has anyone else made this swap or am I late to the party?

Are you really out here snapping chain links every three weeks? That sounds more like a hardware problem than a chain vs. cable thing. Maybe your ladder's getting hung up on something sharp or the chain's just cheap junk. I guess if cable works for you, cool, but I wouldn't call it a life-changing upgrade over a decent chain setup.
