Vent: Spent my whole lunch break today trying to fix a layer shift on a 2 foot architectural drawing
Working on a set of stamped concrete plans for a park project near Cleveland. Got in after break and the printer decided to shift everything 3/16ths of an inch to the right on the second pass. Had to realign the rollers and re-feed the Mylar three times before it came out clean. Boss walked by and just asked if I was having fun. Anyone else deal with printers that just decide to misbehave right before a deadline?

That Mylar crease is brutal, shows up like a sore thumb on the final render and you can't fix it without starting over. Nothing like a printer deciding to sabotage your deadline when the boss is already hovering.

Used to be one of those people who thought coworkers complaining about printers were just being dramatic. Like how bad could it really be, right? Then I spent an hour and a half last Thursday trying to get a 3-foot wide D-size print to line up properly on our old plotter. The thing would start fine then just decide to drift a quarter inch halfway through. Had to reroll the whole thing four times, and the mylar got this weird crease that showed up right across the elevation detail. Now I get it. I really get it. The boss walking by and asking if you're having fun is just insult to injury.
