Snapped a tape measure mid-measurement on a $12k custom countertop job
I was laying out a kitchen island in a new build over on Maple Drive last Tuesday, and my 25-foot FatMax just broke in half right when I was marking the seam. The blade snapped and the whole thing recoiled into my hand, leaving a nice cut and a crooked line on the quartz. Had to run to Home Depot for a new one and redo the layout, which cost me an extra hour of work. Anyone else have a measuring tool fail at the worst possible time?

Oh man, that's brutal... wonder if the cold temperature made the metal more brittle since it's been freezing lately.
