My plotter ate a 40 foot roll of vellum last Thursday and I nearly lost it

I was running a long set of elevations for a commercial job in Spokane and about halfway through the roll, the tractor feed just... slipped? One side kept going and the other jammed. Ended up with this massive crumpled mess of vellum wrapped around the rollers. Took me 45 minutes to cut it out and reset everything. Anyone else had issues with older HP plotters skipping on heavy media?

40 foot roll?? dude i would have straight up cried. lol. i know how bad it sucks when the tractor feed messes up mid job. our old designjet 500 did the same thing to me once with a 36 inch roll of bond, ended up with like 10 feet of it all bunched up and wrinkled like an accordion. i had to stand there with a utility knife and a pair of tweezers trying to fish the paper out without tearing the rollers. felt like an hour of my life i'll never get back.

Wait, you went at it with tweezers? That's insane, man. I would have just yanked it and hoped for the best. I can't believe you had the patience to stand there picking at it like that. My blood pressure would have been through the roof after the first five minutes.
