My old drafting lamp gave up the ghost mid-project last night

I was working on a set of elevation details for a kitchen remodel around 9 PM. The lamp just flickered out, no warning. I had to finish the linework using the overhead light, which cast shadows right across my vellum. Ended up taping a flashlight to the edge of the board to get through it. Anyone have a go-to lamp brand that won't quit on a deadline?

That "gave up the ghost mid-project" feeling is so familiar. It's like everything from light bulbs to internet routers waits for the worst possible moment to fail. Makes you wonder if they plan it.

My old router died right before a big work deadline last year. I ended up getting a cheap wifi extender as a quick fix and it actually held me over for months. Sometimes the simple band-aid solution is all you need to get by.
