A senior drafter told me to stop using the 'offset' tool for everything

I was working on a retail buildout in Portland last month and my lead pointed out that I was using the offset tool for every single parallel line. He said I should just use the copy command with a specific distance instead, because offset can mess up your coordinate accuracy when you're working at 1/4" scale. Since I switched to copy with a 2'-0" offset on a few wall sections, my drawings have been cleaner and I caught way fewer errors. You guys ever run into this habit thing where you use one tool too much?

Buddy of mine did the same thing for years. Vectors were a mess.

Did his vectors actually look like a mess on screen or was it more of a plotting issue? Were you getting snapping errors at small scales too?
