My local hardware store has a 'fix it' shelf that's just a box of random screws
I was in there yesterday and the label literally said 'miscellaneous hardware, maybe 50 cents each'. Has anyone else seen a store try something like this, or is mine just uniquely lazy?

Finally, a store that gets me.

My Ace Hardware has a bin labeled "orphan bolts" for a quarter. It's not lazy, it's a practical solution for leftover inventory. People get weirdly invested in store organization.

Honestly, that just sounds like a junk drawer with a price tag. Tbh it feels less like a practical fix and more like they can't be bothered to sort anything. My local spot tried that and it was just a box of stripped screws and mismatched nuts, totally useless. It's not about being invested in organization, it's about finding the right part. A bin of random stuff is the opposite of helpful when you're trying to fix something specific. Ngl, I'd rather pay full price for a labeled package than dig through a maybe box.
