Hit 500 lightbulbs replaced in my house and had to stop and think about it

I was just doing my usual walkaround checking for burnt out bulbs and added one to the pile in my garage. I started keeping track on a notepad a few years ago when I got serious about diy repairs around here. Turns out I've swapped exactly 500 bulbs since 2019, mostly LEDs now but some old halogens in fixtures I haven't updated yet. That number hit me because each one was a tiny repair that kept things running without calling an electrician. It's not a huge skill or anything, but it made me realize how many small fixes add up over time. Has anyone else tracked how many little repairs they've done in a certain period? I'm curious what other people's numbers look like.

The bit about "each one was a tiny repair that kept things running without calling an electrician" really hit me. I bet you got a better feel for your house's wiring than most people ever will. There's a weird kind of power in knowing exactly how many times you've fixed something simple yourself. It's not just the bulbs, it's the confidence you build each time you do it. Most people would just complain about a flickering light and call someone, but you actually kept count. That says a lot about how you handle problems, you know?

I mean, I used to think keeping count was weird, but you kinda changed my mind on that.
