Can we talk about how drywall anchors have a weight limit printed on them? I just saw one that says 50lbs but the box said 'heavy duty' and the pack had no numbers.
I found this stat on the back of a toggle bolt package at Home Depot last week that said a 1/8 inch anchor only holds 15lbs in 1/2 inch drywall but people online swear by them for TVs, so which side is right?

I read on a site that even the stud finder can be off by an inch sometimes, so who really knows what holds what.

Wait, you're telling me a 1/8 inch toggle bolt only holds 15 pounds in half inch drywall? That's terrifying. I've been hanging heavy mirrors with those things for years. I just assumed "heavy duty" was a real classification, not just a marketing word they slap on anything. So basically the whole drywall anchor industry is built on lies and hope. At this point I'm convinced the 50 pound rating on that anchor means it'll survive 50 pounds for exactly three seconds before the whole thing crumbles into dust.
