My pressure washer pump blew a seal 30 minutes into the first spring wash

Was cleaning the patio pavers and suddenly heard a grinding noise followed by water spraying everywhere from the pump housing. Anyone had luck rebuilding one of these CAT pumps or is it just cheaper to buy a whole new unit?

Wait why would you want to rebuild a pump that blew a seal that fast? Thats just asking for more headaches down the road when another part goes. If the thing grenaded 30 minutes in it probably had other issues brewing inside and you're just gonna be chasing problems forever.

Yeah but isn't that how everything works now though? People patching stuff up instead of just cutting their losses and starting fresh. I see the same thing with cars, appliances, even relationships. Someone spends hours fixing a 10 year old washing machine that's gonna break again next month when a new one would've been $400 and lasted 5 years. Sometimes you gotta know when to walk away.
