Told me to update BIOS for a random boot loop, I said no way

Guy on this forum said flash my BIOS to fix a weird boot loop. I argued with him for 20 minutes. Said it was too risky, never done it before. After three days of trying everything else I gave in. Worked first try, boot loop gone. Guess I owe that stranger an apology.

Yeah man, I had almost the exact same thing. Aorus board would hang on the Windows logo every third boot. Argued with a guy for two days about it being my RAM. Finally flashed the BIOS and it fixed everything. Felt like an idiot.

Counter that one guy probably just got lucky and you're setting yourself up for a bricked motherboard. I've seen three separate threads where flashing BIOS made things worse, like way worse, we're talking black screen no boot at all had to RMA the board. Sure you fixed your boot loop but what if your PC crashes during the flash or you pick the wrong file from the support page? Now you're out a computer and a motherboard until a replacement comes. And half the time these boot loops are just a bad driver or a dying PSU anyway, not even a BIOS issue. You rolled the dice and it worked, but telling other people to just flash their BIOS is like telling them to fix a leaky faucet with a sledgehammer.
