I was wrong about cheap thermal paste until my CPU hit 95C

Always used the $5 stuff from Amazon and thought it was fine. Swapped to Arctic MX-6 on my Ryzen 5 5600X after a buddy insisted and my idle temps dropped from 50C to 38C. That was 3 months ago and my max load temp hasn't gone above 75C since. Anyone else see big drops switching from generic paste to a known brand?

The MX-6 is solid, but I actually saw a bigger jump going from the stock paste on my cooler to Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. My 5600X went from hitting 80C under load to sitting around 67C after a gaming session. It was a night and day difference, especially in how the fans sounded. I think people underestimate how much paste matters when the contact is already decent.

Yep, paste makes a HUGE difference once the cooler contact is good.
