I finally hit 10,000 successful POSTs on my Franken-rig

After three years of swapping parts and fighting with a noisy PSU, my janky office PC finally hit 10,000 successful boots with no errors. Has anyone else kept a counter for something silly like this or am I just weird?

Dude, "Franken-rig" is the perfect name for it. I have one of those myself, an old Dell Optiplex I stuffed a GTX 1050 into and it works like a charm. I don't keep a counter for POSTs though, that's actually kind of cool. I do keep a tally of how many times my PC has crashed on me while trying to run a game from 2013, it's at 47 so far. Your 10,000 boots with zero errors is seriously impressive, mine wouldn't last a week without some kind of weird noise or driver hiccup. You're not weird, you're just dedicated.

Honestly disagree a little bit here. I get why keeping a crash counter feels relatable but for me that's just part of using any PC, not a badge of honor or something. 10,000 POSTs with zero errors isn't dedication, it's just a sign the hardware is solid and nothing unexpected happened. A 2013 game crashing 47 times sounds like a driver issue or a bad config, not really a testament to how rugged your build is. If I had that many crashes I'd be digging into why, not tallying them up like a high score. So yeah, I see the 10,000 boots as more normal than impressive, honestly.
