Picked up a tip at a local makerspace that saved me hours
I went to a meetup at the downtown makerspace last Saturday and someone showed me how to use a heat gun to flex acrylic panels for case windows. It took me like 10 minutes to get a smooth curve compared to my old method of cutting and sanding for an hour. Has anyone else tried bending acrylic instead of cutting it?

Oh man, that heat gun trick is a game changer, right? I actually started doing that for my PC case mods a while back. The trick is to keep the heat gun moving constantly or you'll scorch the acrylic (learned that the hard way on a piece I was really proud of). I also use a piece of scrap wood as a form to bend it over, that way I get consistent curves every time without guessing.

Huh, I don't know, is it really that serious? I mean, I get that you want your case to look nice, but we're talking about a PC case mod here, not building a piece of furniture for the Louvre. I've done a few basic bends with a heat gun just holding the acrylic in my gloved hands and eyeballing the curve, and it came out fine (well, fine enough, it's inside a case, nobody's seeing it that close). I feel like people overthink this stuff sometimes. Unless you're entering some kind of case mod competition, a little imperfection just adds character, you know? But hey, if the wood form makes you feel better about it, more power to you.
