Learned the hard way that measuring fan clearance saves you a headache

Last week I tried to fit a 360mm radiator in my old Cooler Master case and realized the GPU was blocking it by about 2 inches after I already mounted everything. Had to take it all apart and swap to a slim rad instead. Anyone else ever buy parts without measuring first and regret it?

Oh man, the "bought first measured later" curse. I did almost the exact same thing with a Corsair 4000D. Thought I could cram a 280mm AIO up top. Nope. The RAM heat spreaders hit the fans. After I already had it all plugged in and cable managed. Had to just leave the side panel off for a week while I waited for low-profile RAM. Never making that mistake again. Now I break out the tape measure before I even open my wallet.

Wait you left the side panel off for a whole week? That's wild. I would've lost my mind looking at that mess every time I walked past my desk. The low profile RAM swap must have been painful too, having to pull everything apart again just because of some heat spreaders. At least you had a plan B though, I just stared at my parts in defeat for like two hours before I even knew what to do.
