Just hit 1000 hours on my Dremel modding cases

I've been cutting and sanding acrylic panels for my last three builds and I noticed my Dremel's been running without issue for over 1000 hours now, which surprised me since it's just a $30 rotary tool from a pawn shop. That thing's survived plexiglass dust, aluminum shavings, and even a drop off my workbench without skipping a beat. Anyone else have a cheap tool that just refuses to die on case mods?

1000 hours is impressive, but I'd gently point out that Dremel is a brand name like Kleenex. For rotary tools, Dremel makes a specific line, but what you've got there is a rotary tool you probably call a Dremel. I've got a $15 Chicago Electric from Harbor Freight that's been going strong for years through similar abuse. Those cheap ones can surprise you, but they're definitely not the same quality as a real Dremel.

Buddy of mine bought a no-name rotary tool off Amazon for like twelve bucks, used it to sand down a whole boat trailer over a summer, and the thing still runs. @lewis.diana you're right about the brand thing, but sometimes those cheap ones just refuse to die.
