Tried putting my laptop on a bag of frozen peas for cooling... bad idea

So my gaming laptop was hitting 95C during a summer session in Phoenix. I didn't have a cooling pad so I grabbed a bag of frozen peas from the freezer and set the laptop on it. Worked GREAT for about 20 minutes until the bag leaked condensation all over my desk and into the fan vents. Laptop shut down with a water warning error and I spent 2 hours drying it out with rice. Has anyone else tried something dumb like ice packs or frozen stuff before buying a real cooler?

Oh man, have you ever tried that with a cold beer can too? Totally been there. I did the frozen water bottle trick once wrapped in a towel and yeah, same thing happened. The condensation just creeps everywhere no matter how careful you think you are. Honestly I ended up with a puddle on my desk and a sticky keyboard for a week. Ngl the rice method is a lifesaver though, I swear by that stuff now.

Rice is a total game changer, isn't it? Had the same issue with a sweaty iced coffee cup once and it soaked right through a coaster onto my laptop. The keyboard ended up feeling like a sponge for days. My weird fix that actually worked was sticking the whole thing in a bag of uncooked rice overnight and then blowing out the crumbs with compressed air. Worked like a charm, never woulda thought of it if I hadn't seen someone online do it first.
