My uncle told me to use a 2x4 for a temporary brace on my shed build, said it would be fine for a week. It wasn't.

Yeah, that reminds me of my cousin trying to prop up a leaning fence post with just a cinder block. He said it would hold for a few days until he got concrete. Next morning, the whole section was flat in the yard. Sometimes temporary just means you haven't seen it fail yet. What did your shed end up doing, just tip over or something worse?

I mean, how bad did it get? A 2x4 is pretty solid for a short term brace unless your shed is huge or the ground was totally soft. Maybe it just shifted a little and needs a tweak.

You said it "might just need a tweak" and that's exactly how stuff like this always starts. It's like the universe has this rule where a small fix turns into a three day project every single time. I'm not saying the 2x4 can't work for a bit, but in my experience, once something starts leaning, it's already made up its mind to go all the way. You look at it, shrug, prop it up with whatever is nearby, and then a month later you're kicking yourself for not just digging a proper hole when you had the chance. It's the same pattern with a loose cabinet door hinge or a slow bathroom faucet drip. The problem never stays small.
