I finally got my basement wall straight enough for drywall

Spent a whole Saturday shimming out studs on a 120 year old foundation wall. Ended up using 47 shims just to get within 1/4 inch over 12 feet. Did anyone else find that old houses just refuse to be square no matter what you do?

47 shims sounds like a lot, but if the wall is straight and flat at the end, who really cares how many it took?

@miles_grant35 I used 48 last time and my wall still looks like it's doing the hula so you're way ahead of me.
