Finally beat that stubborn caulk bead around the bathtub
I spent like 3 hours last Saturday trying to get a straight caulk bead around my old clawfoot tub. Turns out I was using way too much pressure on the gun and the tip was cut at the wrong angle. After scraping it all off and watching a 5 minute video, I redid it in 20 minutes flat. It's not perfect but it's way better than before and no more gaps for water to sneak into. Has anyone else found a trick that made a basic job 10 times easier?

Oh man the wrong cut angle is such a classic mistake." I did the same thing with my kitchen sink last month, ended up with caulk all over the floor because I thought a bigger hole meant faster work.

Man that caulk story reminds me of when I tried to patch a drywall hole without watching any tutorials. Used way too much compound thinking it would dry faster if I just globbed it on. Took three days to dry and I had to sand down a mountain of dried mud. The wall looked like a weird pimple when I was done. Had to chip most of it off with a putty knife and start over.
