Spent a week trying to mod Fallout 4 with Vortex and gave up

I was dead set on using Vortex because everyone said it was easier for beginners. After 7 days of crashes, missing textures, and one save file that just died, I switched to Mod Organizer 2. Took me like 2 hours to set up and everything just worked. What made you switch mod managers?

Yeah Vortex just does too much behind your back. I spent a whole weekend fighting with it. Profiles kept breaking and my load order would reset for no reason. MO2 lets you actually see what you're doing. Clean virtual file system. Vortex tries to be smart but it just gets in the way.
