Overheard a guy at Micro Center say texture packs are just 'digital wallpaper'
I was picking up a new mouse pad last Tuesday and this older dude was telling the sales kid that modding is just rearranging furniture. It got me thinking about how I spent 3 hours swapping out weapon sounds in Fallout 4 last week and honestly he had a point. Most of my 'mods' are just swapping textures or sounds, not actually changing how the game works. It made me wonder though, does that count as real modding or am I just decorating a digital house? Has anyone else felt like they're not doing 'real' modding when they just swap graphics files?

Wait, three hours swapping sounds that you actually have to listen to over and over?

Yeah, not quite. It's more like you're finding the right spot for each sound in the timeline so they don't clash or overlap weirdly. You still listen to the whole thing a bunch of times, but you're not just hitting play and staring at the wall for hours straight.
