My hex edit ruined a save file and now I always back up...
Was messing with a weapon damage value in Skyrim last night using a hex editor and accidentally shifted a byte wrong - now the save won't load past the character screen. Guess I'm starting over from level 47 unless someone knows if there's a way to undo a hex edit after you've saved it?

Starting over from level 47 because you messed up a hex edit and didn't have a backup? That's on you, man. Backups are for people who actually care about their progress, not for folks who think they can just wing it with a hex editor.
