Tried to save $200 by refinishing my own bathtub last month

Picked up a $40 DIY refinishing kit from Home Depot and watched five YouTube videos before starting. Ended up with paint drips all over the floor and a patchy tub that looks worse than when I started. Anyone else do something similar and end up just paying the pro anyway?

Wait, did you sand and prime the surface first? Most people skip that step and it totally messes up the adhesion lol.

Ugh yeah I've definitely been there. It's such a bummer when you think you're finally done and then it all starts peeling.
