My 'fix' for a wobbly table involved a whole bag of pennies
The leg was about an inch short, so I tried to level it with a stack of old magazines. That looked awful, so I ended up hot gluing 87 pennies into a little tower under the short corner. It's been solid for six months now. Anyone else have a weirdly permanent temporary fix?

Hot gluing the pennies is genius, that's basically a DIY shim. My coffee table has been held up by a stack of takeout menus for years.

Ha! Takeout menus are the unsung heroes of furniture repair, right? I swear half the tables in my apartment are technically supported by a stack of Chinese food menus and sheer hope. Hot glue and pennies at least have some structural integrity. Menus just slowly disintegrate every time you accidentally spill a drink on them. At least with pennies, you're building a tiny, slightly illegal foundation for your furniture. Plus, you can tell yourself it's an investment while your coffee table slowly sinks into the floor.
