My coworker said my paint job looked like a 5 year old did it

I was bragging about painting my living room in one afternoon. Told my buddy Steve at work. He pointed out all the drips and uneven spots on my own photo. Took me 2 more weekends and $45 in extra paint to fix it right. Anyone else ever get humbled by a simple DIY job?

My buddy Dave gave me the same reality check last year after I painted my bathroom in a single afternoon. I was PROUD of myself until he zoomed in on my photo and showed me where the paint pooled around the light switch. I spent three evenings sanding and redoing that one wall. I used to think painting was just slapping color on a wall but now I actually prep everything like taping and priming first.
