My bathroom floor tile job turned into a giant slip and slide

I had to pick between a normal grout and a fancy epoxy grout for my small bathroom floor. I went with the epoxy because the box said it was super strong and waterproof. After mixing it, I had about 45 minutes to work before it set rock hard. I got maybe a third of the floor done before the rest turned into a solid lump in the bucket. Now I have a patchwork floor with half the tiles grouted and the other half just sitting there. Has anyone else had a grout mix go bad that fast and how did you fix it?

Honestly how bad is it really though? Tbh a patchwork floor sounds like a funny story more than a disaster. Epoxy is brutal for first timers, that fast set time is normal. Can't you just chip out the old stuff in the bucket and mix a tiny new batch? It's a small bathroom, not a whole kitchen.

Ugh, that reminds me of when my cousin tried to epoxy his garage floor and it started smoking in the bucket. He just threw the whole thing in the dumpster behind a grocery store. What did you end up doing with the messed up batch?

Yeah, that's just how epoxy goes in my experience.
