Just realized my bathroom tile job needed 47 trips to the hardware store
I thought I could retile my shower in a weekend with two supply runs. After the third trip for more thin-set, I started keeping count. The final number was 47 separate visits over two weeks. It was always something small, like a missing spacer or the wrong color grout. I even went back at 9 PM once because I ran out of tile adhesive. Has anyone else had a simple project turn into a marathon of store runs?

The real cost isn't the gas, it's the social shame. You develop a nodding acquaintance with the night shift guys at the returns desk. They stop asking what you're working on and just give you a look of quiet pity.

Honestly @verab28, I see that pity as a badge of honor. Those late nights mean you're actually building something, which is more than most people do. I'd take their quiet nod over a loud crowd any day.
