Warning: my cable management got worse before it got better

I spent like 3 hours last Sunday redoing all the wires under my desk with velcro straps and those adhesive cable clips from Amazon. When I sat down to plug everything back in, I realized I had zip-tied my monitor cable too short to reach the outlet, and I had to cut all of them off and start over. Has anyone else had a cable project turn into a total mess before you finally got it right?

the real game changer for me was admitting that cable management is more about airflow than looks. i spent forever hiding wires behind a desk panel and my pc was running 10 degrees hotter cause the fans couldn't pull air through. sometimes a little chaos under the desk keeps your rig from cooking itself alive.
