The velcro strip cable trick I tried after 3 years of zip ties actually works better

I was tired of cutting zip ties every time I moved a monitor, so I grabbed a roll of adhesive velcro strips from the dollar store for $3. Has anyone else switched to velcro and found it holds up just as well long term?

Tried those once and they got all dusty and stopped sticking after a few months.

Hunt down @hunt.rowan's dusty experience makes me wonder what kind of environment you're in. Did you have the velcro on a desk or a wall where dust builds up fast?
