That cheap monitor arm I bought off Amazon finally gave out after 8 months

Came home last Thursday and found my second monitor tilted all the way forward, barely hanging on by the VESA plate... the gas spring just gave up completely. Did anyone else have a budget arm fail on them like that, or did I just pick the worst one possible?

Wait is it really that serious though? A gas spring gave out on a cheap arm, okay that sucks but it's eight months old. You literally bought the cheapest thing on Amazon what did you think was gonna happen? My buddy has a no name arm from like 2019 and it's still holding his 27 inch monitor just fine, no issues. People act like a monitor arm failing is some kind of catastrophic event but it's just a piece of metal and a spring. Pop a new one on there and move on with your day.

Did you really expect a budget arm to hold up much longer than that? I used to think a monitor arm was just a simple piece of metal, nothing to pay extra for. Then mine snapped a few months in and I realized you are basically paying for the gas spring to not give out on you randomly.
