Spent $80 on a cable management snake kit - total dud

Saw those flexible cable snakes on instagram and thought they'd clean up my mess of wires under my standing desk. Ordered a 3 pack for about $80 last month. The concept is cool - you put cables inside a fabric tube that you can bend around corners. But the material was way too stiff, kept popping open at the seams after a week. Ended up ripping them all out yesterday and just using velcro ties again like a normal person. Anyone have better luck with these things or did I just buy the wrong brand?

...so my buddy had the same issue with those snake things except he tried to force one around a tight corner and it just ripped right down the middle like cheap wrapping paper. i saw him wrestle with it for like 45 minutes before he threw the whole thing in the trash. velcro straps are boring but they actually work, you know? i just use the stick on cable clips now and run everything along the edge of the desk, way less fussing around.

Oh wait, stick on cable clips are actually a lifesaver if you get the 3M ones, the cheap no name brands fall off after a week. I tried the command brand ones and they've been stuck to my desk for over a year with no issues. Just make sure you clean the surface with alcohol first or they'll peel right off.

i swear those snake sleeves are just glorified trash bags, @taylor929. your buddy should have just taped it back together and called it a day.
