Overheard a guy at Home Depot say his monitor arm fell off because he used drywall anchors

I was picking up some cable ties last Saturday and this dude in the next aisle was on the phone telling someone his whole $600 monitor setup crashed to the floor. Said he used those cheap plastic drywall anchors. Man, I've been using toggle bolts for my dual monitor mount for 2 years now, never had a issue. Made me realize how many people skip the simple stuff. What's the worst desk setup mistake you've seen someone make?

Reminds me of an old coworker I had back in the late 90s. He used to keep his CRT monitor covered with a custom made dust cover and would get visibly upset if anyone touched the screen. One day I accidentally bumped his desk and his coffee cup left a ring mark on the side of the plastic casing. He literally didn't talk to me for a week. Some people just get attached to their gear in a way that doesn't make sense to the rest of us.
