My buddy who swears by zip ties made me rethink my whole setup
Was talking to my friend Mike who works in AV installs and he told me I should stop using those velcro straps for my desk wires. He said zip ties are cleaner and if you leave them a little loose you can still pull stuff through. I always thought zip ties were too permanent but I tried it on my monitor arm cables and honestly it looks way better now. Anyone else switch from velcro to zip ties or am I overthinking this?

Jumped on the zip tie train about a year ago and never looked back honestly. I used to use those velcro straps too but they always came loose after a while and looked sloppy. With zip ties you can really dial in the tension just right so everything is tight but not crushing the cables. I even started using the reusable ones for stuff I might need to change around later... they work great too. The clean look is totally worth the extra five seconds it takes to snip them off if you need to rearrange something. Makes me wonder why I waited so long to switch.
