Just realized my cable management was backwards for 2 years

I used to run all my cables straight from the PC to the monitor and peripherals, then tried to bundle them up with velcro ties after. Looked okay but always had a huge mess behind the desk. Switched to routing everything behind a cable tray I mounted under the desk last month, and now I just have one single power cord going down to the outlet. What changed was I saw a buddy's setup in Denver where he had zero visible cables and asked how he did it. Has anyone else found a cheap tray solution that works better than those stick-on raceways?

Totally jumped on that cable tray bandwagon myself last year and it was the best thing I ever did for my desk setup. I found this metal mesh tray on Amazon for like 20 bucks that screws right under the desk, not those flimsy stick on ones that fall off after a month. It holds all my power strips and cable mess, and now I just have a single power cord running down along one leg of the desk. I used to hate looking at the tangled spaghetti behind my monitor, but now it's clean and I can actually move my chair without catching on wires. Your buddy in Denver must have used those adhesive clips along the desk edge too, I added those for my mouse and keyboard cables and it looks almost invisible.

Did you break a sweat patting yourself on the back for that one?
