Tried swapping out the filter caps on my old Fender Champ last weekend

I had this 70s Champ that was humming like crazy, so I bought a $15 cap kit off eBay and gave it a shot. That thing is dead quiet now but I'm getting a weird crackle when I turn the volume past 5 - anyone run into this after a recap?

You sure those caps were rated properly for a tube amp? Cheap eBay kits sometimes use the wrong voltage ratings and that can cause all sorts of weird noise...

Did you check the ground connections on the new caps? I had the same crackle after swapping caps on my Princeton and it turned out one of the ground lugs was loose. Tightened it up and it was fine.
