Rant: Stopped by a guitar shop in Nashville last weekend and counted 8 different boutique amps with tubes that weren't even glowing right
How do these high end builders charge $2,000 plus for an amp that has cold solder joints and shaky bias straight off the floor, has anyone else walked into a store and seen brand new gear that was clearly slapped together?

Heard from a buddy who builds amps on the side that a lot of these boutique guys are just ordering pre-made boards from overseas and soldering them together in their garage with no real testing. Makes you wonder if they even own a multimeter when you see tubes not glowing right on a $3,000 amp. I saw a video last week where a guy popped open a brand new Matchless and the solder joints looked like cold coffee spills. For that much money you'd think they'd at least check the bias before shipping it out the door, wouldn't you?

Is it really that hard to check bias before shipping a $3000 amp, I swear I've seen worse QC from some of these dudes.
