The week our Instagram traffic dropped 60% and nobody could figure out why
Last March our engagement tanked overnight and it took us five days to realize Instagram had silently changed their algorithm to deprioritize Reel reposts, has anyone else had a sudden unexplained traffic crash like that?

Happened to us last fall. Took forever to figure out it was the repost thing too.

...and honestly I still don't think they ever admitted to the change. My buddy runs a small vintage shop and the same thing hit him back in February. He literally sat there refreshing his business page for two days thinking his account got shadowbanned or something. Meanwhile @caseyw12's story sounds exactly like what my friend went through - he was reposting his own old Reels that did well the first time and suddenly nada. What got me is he finally noticed the algorithm was treating those reposts like they were stolen content or something. He had to start filming completely new stuff every single time just to get back any traction at all.
