The consultant's cold email advice that actually paid off in 3 weeks
Back in March, a guy named Derek from a local agency told me to stop chasing engagement metrics and focus purely on reply rates for our email list. I thought he was full of it, but I cut our list from 4,200 to 1,100 truly active subscribers in Denver. After 3 weeks, our click rate jumped from 1.8% to 5.4%, and we landed two new contracts worth $9k total. Has anyone else found that pruning your audience hard beats trying to grow it?

Wait, you cut 3,100 people off your list and that was the move that worked? That's insane. I've been sitting here feeding my list with stale leads for two years because I was scared to lose the numbers. Derek's a madman or a genius, probably both. I keep picturing the look on my boss's face if I told him we were slashing 75% of our audience. But honestly, paying customers beat "potential" contacts every time. Two contracts in three weeks off 1,100 people, that's better math than anything I've tried. Might need to steal this but I'll blame it on a random internet post if it flops.
