Stop treating SEO like it's just keywords and links
I keep seeing agencies charge $3k a month for "SEO" that's just stuffing keywords and buying cheap links. Last month I fixed a client's site by rewriting their product descriptions for actual humans and their traffic jumped 40% in 6 weeks. Has anyone else had luck ignoring the old playbook?

@schmidt.grant you're right but SEO still needs keywords, just ones people actually use lol

Yeah I had basically the same thing happen. Took over a site that was ranking for all these weird keyword phrases nobody would ever actually type. Completely rewrote their homepage and service pages to just explain what they do like a normal person would say it. Traffic went up like 50% in two months and their bounce rate dropped to basically nothing. All those old SEO tactics from 2018 are just noise now. Google wants content that makes sense for a real visitor reading it. The agencies are still selling the same package and it's just not working anymore.
