Stop pretending SEO is dead just because Google changed the SERPs
Been doing SEO for about 6 years now, mostly for local service businesses. Last month a client panicked because their organic traffic dropped 40% overnight. Turned out Google just moved their main keyword results to a featured snippet and local pack. They were still getting calls, just not clicks. I see SEOs on Twitter claiming the industry is dying every time Google adds a new SERP feature. It's not dying, you just need to track different metrics now. How are you measuring success when clicks don't tell the whole story?

Used to roll my eyes at people tracking calls instead of clicks, but you just changed my mind. A client of mine lost 60% of their organic visitors last quarter but their phone actually rang more than ever. Guess I need to start asking clients what they actually want instead of assuming clicks equal success.

Been tracking call recordings to see what people actually ask for instead of just counting clicks. That helped me show real value to a client who thought they were failing.
