Serious question, my local coffee shop in Boise saw a 30% drop in online orders last month.
They updated their website to look more modern, but the order button got moved and the checkout process added two extra steps. I think the new design looks good, but it's clearly hurting sales. Has anyone else seen a simple site redesign tank conversion rates like that?

Absolutely, that's a classic case of form over function. A clean new look means nothing if customers can't actually buy anything. Those extra steps in checkout are a huge barrier, people just want their coffee fast. It's crazy how a tiny change like moving a button can completely break the user's habit. They need to track where people are dropping off and roll back those changes immediately.

Spot on about tracking the drop off points. They should be checking heatmaps to see exactly where people's cursors stop moving or where they hit the back button. It's not just about rolling it back, but figuring out which specific step caused the 30% dip. Was it the new payment screen or just moving the "confirm order" button?
