Picked between HubSpot and ActiveCampaign for my newsletter last month
Went with ActiveCampaign because of the automation builder, but now I'm struggling to get my open rates above 22% - anyone else find HubSpot's deliverability was actually worth the extra cost?

I had a similar issue when I switched from Mailchimp to ActiveCampaign, my open rates took a nosedive at first too. Turns out I was sending to too many old inactive subscribers that were dragging my stats down, so I ran a big cleanup and things picked up. HubSpot's deliverability is definitely solid from what my friends who use it say, but their starter plan gets pricey fast. You might want to check if your emails are landing in spam by sending test messages to different providers like Gmail and Outlook to see where they end up.

So like, I had this whole thing happen back when I was messing around with ConvertKit for my little food blog newsletter, and I kept seeing these weird dips in my open rates that made no sense. Turns out, my ISP was actually throttling some of my outgoing mail because I was sending too many tests to myself, which is totally a thing nobody warns you about. But going back to your situation, 22% is rough but it might not even be the tool's fault you know? I spent two weeks chasing deliverability ghosts before I realized half my list had signed up during a giveaway and never opened a single email. Maybe try scrubbing those dead subscribers first before you blame ActiveCampaign, because their automation is honestly pretty good once you get the data clean.
