Just realized my best content idea came from a customer at a coffee shop

I was working at a cafe in Austin last month when a regular saw my analytics dashboard and said, 'Your blog posts are good, but I only share stuff that solves my exact problem right now.' That one comment made me switch from broad topics to specific how-to guides. What's a small change that made your content more useful?

Yeah, that "solves my exact problem right now" line is everything. I read something similar about how the best help content is just giving people the exact steps they're already searching for.

Started writing for my past self's specific frustrations.

Oh man, that's such a good point! And @hall.ruby nailed it too - writing for your past self's frustrations is basically the same thing, just from a different angle. I'd argue that customers actually know what they want better than we do though, not just "kinda" know.
