Finally stopped guessing on headline testing this quarter

Used to just write whatever felt right for blog post titles and hope for the best. About 3 months ago I started running A/B tests on every email subject line using a free split testing tool I found. The data showed that questions with numbers (like 'Can you fix this in 5 minutes?') beat regular statements by almost 40% open rate. Now I test at least 2 variations before anything goes out to our list of 2,000 subscribers. Has anyone else seen big differences between certain headline styles or formulas?

Wait, so you're telling me I could've been testing this whole time instead of just slapping '10 Ways to Save Money' on everything and hoping for the best? Honestly I tried that 'questions with numbers' thing once and wrote 'Can you fix this in 5 minutes?' for a post about changing a tire and got 60% of people clicking thinking it was a magic trick video. Tbh my data looks more like a cry for help than a growth strategy but at least now I test before I embarrass myself in front of 2,000 subscribers. Ngl I'll probably still use 'You Won't Believe This One Weird Trick' next week anyway though.
