Can we talk about how we used to plan social media content?
About two years back, I would sit down every Monday and try to plan a whole week of posts for our small business. I'd write captions, pick pictures, and schedule them all at once. It felt organized, but the posts never really connected with people. Then I started using a tool called Metricool to track when our followers were actually online. I found out most of them are active around 8 PM on weeknights, not during the day like I thought. Now, I only plan three posts ahead and leave room to post something quick and real-time based on what's happening that day. The change came because I saw our engagement drop, and I needed to fix it. Has anyone else moved away from a strict weekly schedule to something more flexible?

Oh man, did you also find that scheduling way ahead made everything feel super stale? I was doing the same Sunday night planning thing, and my posts felt like robot updates. Switched to just planning the next day or two, and keeping my camera roll open to grab pics of actual stuff happening in the shop. The difference is crazy.

Yeah but is your social media feed really that big of a deal? It's just pictures of wood and tools. Most people scroll past in half a second. As long as the work you're showing is good, who cares if you planned it on Sunday or Tuesday? Feels like people overthink this stuff way too much.

Buddy of mine used to stress about this exact thing. He'd set up these perfect posts for Monday morning, then a tool would break on Tuesday and he'd feel stupid posting about a new shelf build instead. Now he just snaps stuff as it happens, even if it's a blurry shot of a clamp repair, and his followers actually like it more. Kinda backs up the idea that overplanning takes the real life out of it.
