6 months of automating my social posts and all I got was a 12% drop in engagement

Back in January I set up a scheduling tool to push out 3 posts a day across Instagram and Twitter. Figured consistency was the key. By March my numbers were flat, by April they were slipping. Took me until last week to realize the problem - my posts had no soul. They were just links and captions I wrote during a single Sunday afternoon. People could tell. I turned off the scheduler and went back to posting live. Two days in and my DMs are already buzzing again. Any of you hit a wall with automation like this?

Man I feel this in my bones. Tried the same thing last year with my business page and it felt like I was just yelling into a void. There's something about typing it out in the moment that people pick up on, even if it's just a vibe.

Read something the other day about how social media algorithms basically punish you for not sounding like a real human in the moment. Some study found that posts with perfect grammar and no typos actually get less engagement because they feel like ads. I think people just want to see the crack in the facade, you know? That thing where you type something slightly unhinged at 2am and it gets way more interaction than your carefully crafted post the next morning. It's weird but it makes sense.
