Vent: That conversation with my mom that made me question everything
Was talking to my mom on the phone last week. She's not a digital nomad, doesn't get the lifestyle. She said 'so you're just bouncing around, no real home, no real community?' Hit different than I expected. I've been doing this for 3 years, 12 countries. Always thought I was living the dream. But her words stuck with me. Started noticing how I don't have anyone to grab coffee with regularly, no library I know by heart. The freedom is great but maybe there's a cost. Anyone else have a family member make them second guess this life?

Talk to @torres.drew about finding a home base while still traveling part time.

Damn, that hit me. I actually read this article a while back about how people in transient lifestyles start missing 'third places' - like the coffee shop where everyone knows your name, the park bench you always sit at. It's real. I've got a buddy who did the van life thing for 2 years and he said the same thing, it was awesome for a while but eventually he just missed having a local dive bar where he knew the bartender's name. That freedom sounds amazing but I get how it can feel empty after a while.
