Tried coworking in a hostel common area instead of a cafe

My output tanked. Noise and interruptions were way worse than I expected. Got maybe 3 hours of real work done in a whole day. Has anyone actually made the hostel coworking thing work or is it just for Instagram?

Did you see that study about ambient noise levels for focus? Something like 50 decibels is ideal but hostels are usually pushing 70 or more. The real problem is you can't control who walks in or what they do. I tried the library in a hostel once and it turned into a drinking game by 3pm.

Third hostel I tried had a guy playing ukulele covers of anime songs for three hours straight. My noise-cancelling headphones couldn't save me from that one.
