Shoutout to the cafe in Chiang Mai that kicked me out for working too long

Last week they pointed to a sign saying '90 minute limit' after I'd been there for three hours on a single coffee. Anyone know a good spot in the Old City that doesn't mind you camping out?

Buy a second drink to be polite" feels like a weird rule for a cafe. It's just coffee, not a rent payment.

Akha Ama on Haisok lets you stay for ages, their upstairs is never full. I just buy a second drink after a couple hours to be polite.

@amy858 "buy a second drink to be polite" - yeah I heard a podcast about this actually. Some cafe owners say it's fine to stay if you buy two drinks over a few hours. @sethc12 it's not a rent payment but they gotta keep the lights on. I read this piece about how cafes in Tokyo have time limits now because of tourists staying forever. Akha Ama sounds chill though. Wish more places had that upstairs space so nobody feels rushed.
